West Philly Press is ceasing operations as of July 1, 2022. Our books are still available through Amazon and, for booksellers our Rhapsody Hill titles are available through Ingram.
We had hoped to keep going, publishing first and first-ish works by emerging Philadelphia and Philly-area authors in poetry, short stories, and erotica, but the human world kinda threw this project into an unsustainable state of chaos. And while chaos can be delicious, this flavor wasn’t very nutritious. So we’re closing down, at least for now.
For about 7 years we tried to publish the unheard voices of Philly writers, those who wanted to get their work into print or pixel without having to become a designer, editor, and coder all at once. In November 2019 we launched Rhapsody Hill Books, an imprint dedicated to health and wellness, with the publication of Susana Mayer’s Does Sex have an Expiration Date?. And then there was this bat virus and the world went batshit.
Stay safe, be kind to yourselves and each other, and save your strength so we can fight like hell for a world we desire and deserve.
